Photos from Crater Lake
Enterin Crater Lake National Park

Elevation was around 7500' and several of the hills still had snow.

Our first glimpse...

The lake partly fills a nearly 1,958 foot deep caldera that was formed around 7,700 BC by the collapse of the volcano Mount Mazama.

View from the back of Crater Lake Lodge

Inside the lodge...

The main fireplace is HUGE

Another fireplace in the lobby...

Lots of photos and history as you walk through the lodge

Front of the Lodge...

So BLUE!

Back on the road...and we just entered California and Dana got to see her first wildfire...

Mt Shasta (14,179'). The second-highest peak in the Cascade Range and the fifth highest peak in California.

I think I am ready to get back in the car now...

Photos from Yellowstone - Boiling River
Trailhead...

The actual "Boiling River". Water is 200+ degrees. This empties into the Gardner River, and that's where you swim.

Boiling water hitting the river...

Best hot tub in the world. Kill's the "lobster pot" at Mammoth, CA. All of the water coming off the rocks on the left is HOT. This place is a MUST for anyone visiting the park.

Elk are everywhere in the park...

Flying (literally) on our way to GLACIER!

Glacier in the distance...
