Be still my heart.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever experienced. Yosemite. Thanksgiving 2012.

A Disneyland for hikers. Crowds included. There was heavy traffic down below since you can drive to too many places in the valley, however, once you climbed a little higher, the people just seemed to melt away. From what we hear, it is crowded in the summer months and several roads/trails are closed during winter months, which caused us to score some really great hiking during this in between time!

Pictures will not do any amount of justice to the incredible place that Yosemite is...you must choose the experience. I highly recommend it!

Thank you John Muir!

"Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves." -John Muir

Gratitude.

Thank you to all who came out yesterday and/or donated to help the victims of Sandy. It warmed my heart to see how many people, 3,000 miles away, were effected by this storm. Not because I want people to be sad, but because it reminds me that we are all together and that no one has forgotten their roots.

Home is where the heart is.

To all the East Coast Transplants feeling so helpless...

I am going to open my home and host a small brunch this coming Sunday with the hopes that you will bring donations for the Sandy victims. I think right now, the preference is gift cards since they are easy to mail and desperately needed. Even if you can only afford $5, every penny counts for those that lost EVERYTHING. I would suggest Target for them to have options to purchase a variety of things.

If you are unable to donate, please still come by and reminisce about memories of our beloved Jersey Shore! The shore that defined our childhoods and made us who we are today.

Details:

Date: Sunday, November 11, 2012
Location: Mi Casa (contact me for my address)
Time: 10:00am - 1:00pm
Food: Garden State Bagels and Mimosa's

Please RSVP by Friday, November 9 so that we know how much food to get. My home is small, but my heart is big, please feel free to pass this on to those that would want to help.

If you are unable to make it and want to donate...this is near my hometown which was hit pretty hard.
