Hurley Pro Trestles - 2010

Dana & I woke up this weekend before sunrise and drove up to San Clemente for the Hurley Pro at Lower Trestles. This is the only US stop (excluding Hawaii) on the ASP World Championship Tour. After a quick stop a Pipes Cafe for coffee & breakfast burrito, we just managed to get a parking spot in the main lot before it completely filled up. A large south swell had been building the day before, and it was set to peak on Saturday, so contest director Pat O'Connell decided to run the Round 5 all the way through to the final.

Kelly Slater surfed his 8:30AM heat solo after Chris Davidson was a no show, having come down with the flu. That set the tone for the rest of his day, as he made his way all the way to the finals, where he defeated Bede Durbidge to win the contest.

We snapped a few photos that you can see here.
