We drove up to mammoth this past weekend. Our first trip since my injury in November. Our 2x/month average trips shrunk to...gasp!...3 months?! As we drove up on Friday with a view of the 'white and brown' Sierras....we were reminded why we haven't been there in so long. While Casey was wiping his tears that he wouldn't be able to shred the gnar like the old days, I was kind of getting stoked for hiking season. While lack of snow is no bueno...it does mean that hiking season will hopefully come earlier this year :)
The six hour car ride gave us alot of time to plan our spring and summer adventures.
On the list so far...
April = La Jolla Half Marathon
May = Encinitas Sprint Triathlon
May/June = Trip to Cabo
June = Lots of 'local' training hikes (San G, San J, Baldy, etc.)
July = Mount Whitney via the backside (Cottonwood Pass TH starting point...2-3 days)
August = Yosemite/Tuolumne Meadows Trip
Aug/Sept = Mt Langley? (still working on Casey with this one)
Here's to an aggressive summer! The only way to do it!
In the meantime...I did catch a little snowshoe workout up by Lake Mary and Lake George...
